An Unappealing Tooth in Your Smile Can Be Cosmetically Restored by a Crown

Posted .

Visible old fillings, discoloration or a chip on one of the teeth in your smile can leave you feeling self-conscious in social situations. Many people with an unappealing tooth in their smile will contact Dr. Samuel Richey at Lighthouse Dental & Orthodontics in Riverton, Utah, to explore their cosmetic restoration options.

One of the most popular methods Dr. Samuel Richey will recommend is to have the tooth restored with a high-quality porcelain crown. While traditional crown restoration methods take two separate appointments, at Lighthouse Dental & Orthodontics we are pleased to provide CEREC one-visit crown restorations for your smile.

With CEREC one-visit restorations, you will forgo the usual uncomfortable temporary crown placement. Our CEREC one-visit restoration uses advanced scanning technology to design the crown, which also eliminates the need for messy impressions. Dr. Samuel Richey will examine the tooth and take X-rays. As long as the tooth is healthy, we can begin the process of forming an abutment. This is done by removing the majority of the enamel layer of the tooth, leaving the healthy interior of the tooth completely unaffected. This abutment will serve to anchor the crown in place. Our CEREC crowns are then created from high-quality porcelain that Dr. Samuel Richey matches to your natural tooth color. When your porcelain crown is ready it will be cemented onto the abutment.

If you have an unappealing tooth in your smile, don’t delay your treatment any longer. We invite you to call our Lighthouse Dental & Orthodontics team in Riverton, Utah to restore your healthy, confident smile!
